Nokya69
I've been looking into buying a Z1 for my GX470. I've also been reading a lot of the info on this website. Question: Has this been done on my make/model already? The installer said it would take at least one day (two at the most; he needs to make the custom faceplate, wiring, etc.). He also stated that all of my speakers would not work (I have a Mark Levingston system with 12 speakers. He said that my mid speakers would not work due to the Z1 only being able to work the hi/low speakers). Is this true? Please advise.
Termist
I believe he's right. When I used to do installs, you can not run more than 4 channels worth of speakers on a headunit. You'll need an/few amplifiers to make use of all your speakers. As for the faceplate, I'm sure you'll have to have something fabbed up as well.
Nokya69
Thanks for your reply. He also quoted me $2,500 for install and unit. Does this sound about right?
sportsfan21
How much is he charging you for the unit itself? You can probably find the Z1 MUCH cheaper online. Search through the forum, theres a lot of posts on where to find the cheapest Z1.
