d1119
I am a newbie, and would like to know if I can install z1 on my toyota limited 4 runner, year 99. According to crutchfield.com, it simply states that z1 doesn't not fit. My car has double DIN (4x7), and by reading somethread in this forum, it seems that I am able to install this z1 on my car? Thanks for your help.
71Nova
If your 4 runner has a double din you can install it. I know there are people using them in 99 tacomas and I think the dash is the same. The only time you really can't is if your ac or info center buttons are integrated into the stereo and even then I was told there are adapters for a lot of aplications. It is also more dificult if you are installing it into an older vehicle that has a mechanical spedo cable. The AVIC needs to tie into an electrical speedo sensor. Luckely my old nova has a new 6 speed with electric sender.
cntrylvr79
Yeah will fit fine. Just unbolt the brackets on the side of the stock radio and bolt them up to the avic.
