3d Car Formats

Recommended Posts

I have sucessfully implemented a 3d Car in my IGO8.0 mod.

In doing so I followed help on the forum which said

you need to make 4 copys of the .mdl file and rename them to

car.mdl

car_ghost.mdl

car_grey.mdl

car_night.mdl

But does anyone know what the ghost, grey and night files do? Can you use the night file for example to have a different image when in night mode?

Thanks

Colin

That's exactly what the night model is for. Grey, IIRC is for when you have no GPS signal, and ghost is more or less the shadow of the model.

In [3d]

;car_day=car.mdl ; 3d car colors in day[night]2d[3d]color.ini

;car_day=sports_car.mdl

;car_night=sports_car.mdl .....

Boris, thanks for your help.

In another answer, you suggested the above to be added to sys.txt

Do you think that this would work for both 8.0 and 8.3?

Again thanks for your help.

I've had better luck getting it to work in hacked 8.3 but it should, theoretically, work with 8.0 as well.
