I have a old deh6800 in it right now. i also have the BLACK met box in it. i am going to do the instalation myself and bypass it. i was told i can do the vss on the box and the brake/reverse light as well. Im new to the whole Nav unit instalation. what wires will be modified and what do i need to cut on the dash for it to fit. i have the bluetooth box and everythign for it. 1loudls Posted December 18, 2009 Report Share Posted December 18, 2009 2000 and up cavi's are double din sized radios, you dont need to cut anything to make it fit, just get a double din dash kit, however, with almost every chevy i do, i usually cut out a lot of the plastic behind the radio to give it more room for all the harnesses and to make it easier to put back together. if cutting plastic out of the dash, make sure to remove the gauge cluster, because the vibrations from the saw can mess with a couple of gauges (the needles will spin and then they wont line up) and the light for the ODO will go out. the only thing different from a normal radio is that there is a gps antenna and a couple of extra wires Quote Link to post Share on other sites
