cyclonus99
Hey all: So, the ipod 5g tv-out has a 4:3 output display aspect ratio to the avic as you all know. So 16:9 or wider vids usually appear pillarboxed. Now, I can properly display 16:9/widescreen videos to fill up the screen if i change the Avic output to "Zoom" or "Cinema" mode. Earlier, I had read somewhere that someone was able to encode an anamophic video to fill up with whole screen without any zoom feature (but vids would appear squished on the ipod itself, but I don't care about that). Has anyone successfully encoded anamorphic to fill up the entire screen and if so how?
cyclonus99
Nobody here outputs widescreen from their ipod5g to the AVIC?
VBLUE42
Look into an app called HANDBRAKE.
cyclonus99
I know what handbrake is, and how to set the anamorphic flag. I tried it out and it still outputted 4:3.. I'm asking is it really possible to output 16:9 using anamorphic, ie have you actually gotten it to work and if so how.
