Is it possible to display the navigation on the external monitor and have the avic main screen running A/V controls? Is it possible to display the dvd playback on the external monitor and have the avic main screen runing a/v controls? I have an IS300 Lexus and mounting the avic is low on the dash. I want to put a monitor on the top tray on top of the A/C Vents to not have to take my eyes off the road for navigation as well as play dvd videos on the monitor on top. Why the heck did they not allow the MAP to be displayed on an external monitor, but everything can be displayed on an external? Any particular reason? Most people would have no reason to display the map on a rear screen so there for there is no need to design such a feature into the unit.
