MartyO Posted March 15, 2010 Report Share Posted March 15, 2010 The head unit is installed and it looks and works great. Just a few things to figure out: The light control does not work properly. All of the dash lightsare now very dim and do not adjust -- I think it is pinned to the wrong wire. Anyone know what wire it should have been pinned to? What wire needs to be tapped on the car side for the speed sensor? Is there is a way to defeat the safety feature that limits access to certain screens when the car is in motion? 79289Chase Posted June 8, 2010 Report Share Posted June 8, 2010 Ok if your car has the standard radio then pin 1 on the factory harness should be a Light blue wire with a red tracer. That is the illumination wire. That's pretty standard for F/L/M products for wire color on illumination. With the standard radio it does not have a VSS in the factory radio plug. If you have the Alpine factory radio it will be pin 3 for illumination. Its the same LB/RD wire. The speed wire for the Alpine is pin 14. Should be gray with black tracer. Hope this helps.
