joelala30 Posted March 27, 2010 Report Share Posted March 27, 2010 MY SCREEN IS STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION, THE UNIT POWERS ON BUT NOTHING COMES ON THE SCREEN, ALL THAT HAPPENS IS THE SCREENS BACKLIGHT COMES ON AND NOTHIN ELSE. ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO FIX THIS? I TOOK THE HARD DRIVE OUT AND STILL NOTHING, REALLY NEED THIS FIXED, ANY IDEAS? Quote Link to post Share on other sites
george.khattar Posted April 30, 2010 Report Share Posted April 30, 2010 AVIC Z1 screen on opening sticks in half open position and will not return into place unless vehicle is turned off and the car door is opened. DVD /CD can not eject or insert discs in half opened position. I am seeking a solution short of returning 3 year old unit to manufacturer? Can any one help? Quote Link to post Share on other sites

dawgbone Posted May 7, 2010 Report Share Posted May 7, 2010 If you look on the bottom of the unit, you can peel the chrome sticker up (voids warranty)..... and you'll find a half moon shaped slot.... you can stick a screwdriver or the likes in there and turn the gear to move the screen to either full close, or full open.... It takes a bit of elbow grease to get it moving, so don't be surprised that it doesn't move when you go lightly stabbing at it... you have to put some nutz into it... I've seen this help others before(as well as my own) when the system either just got stuck on stupid, or the screen just became jarred.... They hook it back up and it just starts working again Quote Link to post Share on other sites
