Different direction to the same place

First post here, been reading for a few days trying to get the most out of my F900BT.

 

I am going to be driving to northern Georgia in a week, when I plug the address in it takes me straight through Atlanta. On mapquest I can pull up an alternate map that brings me to the same place but avoids driving through Ga completely until I get well north of ATL and only adds about 10 min to the drive. Is there any way I can get an alternate route set up in the 900 or do I just have to keep passing up their suggested directions and let it re-calculate?

You could try playing with routing options. I.e. try shortest instead of fastest etc. If that still tsakes you through Atlanta, you could simply add a via point along the route that Mapquest suggests and let AVIC take you there. It should route you straight from there.
