what will an iphone do on a D3 with a Ipod cable?

it works just like the ipod, i have a iphone 3gs and it also works with my friends 4g. dont waste your money on an ebay cable, but the real dael from crutchfield, its $20

and, i will need the cable, which is old style, and need the adapter you linked, to go to the newer style iPhone, correct, ??

 

she does need to charge it, using GPS drains the battery ASAP

You need some sort of charging adapter i think scosche makes one for like 18 bucks

 

also you are saying about gps draining battery...are you using gps on the iphone? dont you have an avic-d3 navigation system? lol

 

I got around this not charging problem by having an aux cable and a second charger...it kinda sucks but i had the charger anyway and another 20 bucks for the adapter is just a waste (ill probably get it some day)
