sirius satellite radio sir-pnr2 issue

hi have the sir-pnr2 tuner unit hooked up to the z1 for a long time. it was working for many years. i had taked off the main battery of the car for maintenance a few times in the past couple of years. the tuner seemed to always worked when i reattached the battery. the last time i did it, i left the car sitting for a week. when i plugged it back in the tuner didnt work.

 

to see if i could fix it, i started with calling sirius to resend me a signal. the unit would come on intermittedly. i just took it out and tried to detach and reattach the cables all together. no luck. i also tried to call for a signal resend from sirius. still nothing. the screen just keeps saying trying to aquire signal.

 

so, is the tuner bad or the antenna bad or is it something else?

 

another question, i was also planning on installing the tuner under the rear seat where there is no ventillation. i was told that these items didnt need ventallation. is this true?
