Boomrsoonr
HI, Im new here but have read just about every topic over the past few days. I just installed my Z1, and everything seems to work great, and the system sounds good. However, when the key is turned to 'ON', there is a nasty noise through the speakers. It is installed in a 2002 Sequoia with the JBL amp. I am using the 71-8113 Metra harness and it is all ground through the factory harness. Is my problem the head unit? WIll the PAC SNI-1 help? Thanks in advance, and this sight rocks! Tye Also, on the Metra harness i have 2 wires not connected to anything. #'s 10 and 18. Do i need these????
jimmy303
Do you mean when the truck is running or if you only turn the key to the run position?
Boomrsoonr
Well, i have the noise figured out, it was when the ignition was in the 'on' position, the engine didnt need to even be running. I seperated my grounds and ground the stereo itself to the frame. That seemed to take care of the problem. Now i am just trying to figure out how to get power to the antenna. Thanks for the reply! jimmy303
On the radio harness, there will be 2 pink/blue wires. One turns on the amp, the other, pin 8, is half of the antenna circuit. You must also energize pin 5 on the antenna relay, white/blue. That's attached to the antenna.
