Can't Play SD Music Video

Recommended Posts

hi all

I had 110BT for about 2 months and just updated it to 120BT and it's really cool and works great.

yesterday it was my first time trying to put some music videos in SD and wanted to see if it really works.

but after I inserted the SD card, it said: cannot play all track.

I know SD card funtion works good because I have pictures in it for screen splash, and I have some music in it as well and it plays without any problem!

I have tried avi format first and it said the same thing that all track can't be played, I then converted those files into mp4 formats but both all failed to play via SD card but it can be played via my ipod video.

anyone knows how to fix or do i have to do anything more to make my SD card play music videos?

please help if anyone out there can give me some advise or guidelines, thank you

I'm sure your media card is functioning. I think your issue is either your media had DRM restrictions (google it!!), or the vids are not in the correct format.

The SD media player is very picky with file formats. The EASIEST way to get music videos to play on your system try this

1) Go to YOUTUBE

2) Search and launch any video you desire

3) Copy the URL of the video from the YOUTUBE address bar

4) Go to either Keepvid.com or Savevid.com

5) Paste the previously copied URL into the URL box

6) Select the "MP4" file format (only this format will work with Z110/Z120)

7) Select your SD card as the file destination

8) Repeat steps to get another video

Keep in mind, some of the OFFICIAL music videos will have DRM restrictions and you would have to convert them with DRMBuster or some other program. This is tedious but it is currently the only way to get around the restriction.

If there is no DRM restriction, the video quality of the saved videos is amazing on the Z110/Z120.

OMG!! thank you so much. this totally works. I guess since it's the same MP4 files i was trying to play but it failed, must be because of the DRM thing you mentioned. now I tried this way and it works great and the video's amazing, thank you so much again!

Yeah, that DRM limitation is a b***h. I tried converting a few "DRM-locked" media files but the resolution is nowhere near the quality of the original, and the file size ends up bigger (WTF); not worth the time in converting.

I'm just waiting for someone to crack the DRM limitation for the Z110/Z120. In the meantime, I'm grabbing as much from YOUTUBE and VEVO (which is better than YOUTUBE) as I possibly can. The DRM videos play very well on a PC so I still get some use out of them.

I'm glad I could help.

*** UPDATE *** 11/15/2011

FYI, I stand corrected; there are no DRM restrictions on the videos that do not work with this method. I put all the non-working files on my iPod Touch and they ran near perfect. A slight degrade in audio quality, but the video is superb. I say this method is more ideal for the iPod than the SD card, but it works (most of the time) for the SD card.
