Theres a way to change the iPod#### to the first 8 characters of the title, but at the moment I can't remember how. I think you need to hit the function 3 button. The interface on the D1/2, N1/2 for the iPod is horrible. You can look into the iPod2Go, its a much better interface in my opinion, but again, its still not perfect.
