SP3CIALBL3ND
I'm looking to upgrade my old AVX-P7300DVD to the new AVH-P4200DVD. Does anyone know if it is compatible with older 26 pin AVIC models? I have the AVIC-80DVD and want to make sure it will work before I buy the new AVH.

VBLUE42
Actually in looking at all the install manuals it appears to be the same 26 pin connector but I seriously doubt the older add-on units will work. It is certainly worth a try though.

It is certainly worth a try though. I hope it will. The AVIC-80 works fine, but the AVX with an AVM is a bit dated. I will probably give it a try anyway, but if anyone has any first hand experience I would greatly appreciate your input. Pioneer makes great products but their customer support is not very helpful. They always push their latest products and fail to mention older compatibility.
SP3CIALBL3ND
I attempted the AVIC-80DVD install with the AVH-P4200. Unfortunately even with the same 26 pin connector it is not compatible. Pressing the mode button only results in a blank screen. I hope this helps any of you looking to upgrade your AV receiver. AVIC-U220 is on the way!
