2000_328ci
I am going to be installing my AVIC-F500BT rather soon and had a question about wiring. For the back up camera, does that go in via the aux input or is there another way in which it is connected? Any help would be much appreciated as the installation guide is total junk. PhilGood
There is a video-in input for the back up camera in the supplied wire, AFAIK, it's in brown color.
2000_328ci
So can you have the back up camera input via this brown color and then ALSO have video/audio fed through the aux input? I am interested in running apple composite cables in via the aux port so I can play ipod/iphone videos on the screen... if I'm not mistaken, the AVIC won't accept iphone video signals correct? And can I run any camera off ebay or does it have to be the pioneer specific unit like the ND-BC4?
PhilGood
You can have 2 video inputs. The build-in back up camera input plug is a standard RCA input, you can use any type of camera. Not sure about the iPod composite cable but F500 do have a separate AV input port and you can use it along with the AUX in to get iPod video and sound in; however, you will lost iPod control from F500. Check this Connection Chart as a reference
