tech10002
I was wondering if anyone had messed with the newer Honda/Acuras lately. I'm putting a Z1 in a 2007 TL, and it has a really oddball antenna plug. It uses a little square connector with an RF side and 1 pin on the other side that has 12 volts on it with the radio on. I assume this is for the factory antenna amplifier. I can't find any antenna adapters anywhere, and I'm trying to not have to hack up the factory harness and solder on a standard antenna end. cntrylvr79
You'll need a metra 40-hd10. There's a scosche version too, but that thing SUCKS ALOT!
tech10002
Thanks for the model number. I found the Scosche one, but there are no dealers in town. Hopefully I'll be able to find the metra tomorrow. It's funny because even metra doesn't show there being an adapter available for the TL, but that one you mentioned looks exactly like the plug in the car.
tech10002
One more quick question. Do you know where I'd find the Vss and reverse wires in the 07 TL? I ordered a service manual, but so far it's not here.
abergdc
I looked at a 2006 Acura TSX for a while and loved the OEM nav. What are the pros and cons compared to the Z1, for those who have used both? Â I know this is a bit of a silly question, because if I bought the Acura I would certainly get the OEM for the ideal system integation, and if I got a VW Jetta GLI (which I did) I can't get the Acura OEM, but I'm still very curious. Â Thanks, Â Andy
cntrylvr79
One more quick question. Do you know where I'd find the Vss and reverse wires in the 07 TL? I ordered a service manual, but so far it's not here.  Reverse Light green + driver kick, harness to rear  Speed Sense blue/white ECM/PCM, white 31 pin plug, pin 11 Notes: The ECM/PCM is on the front of the transmission tunnel. The connectors are on the passenger side.   merry xmas
tech10002
Thanks cntrylvr79 Â I was really sweating those reverse and Vss feeds. The install is finished except for those two wires and the trim plate for the HU. I looked everywhere on the net and couldn't find anything. Where do you find all this info? cntrylvr79
It's all from databases I have access to from work.
tech10002
cntrylvr79, Â Do you have access to a picture of the connector? Pin 11 in the white 31 pin PCM connector is empty. There is no blue with white stripe wire in any of the PCM connectors. There is a white with blue stripe wire in pin 18 of the white 31 pin connector.
cntrylvr79
Unfortunately it doesn't show pictures. Your other option would be if you can find the cruise control module the vss should be blue/white there too.
tech10002
Thanks. I'll try that. Maybe I can find the wire on the cruise servo and check continuity to find the pin on the PCM. I would give anything for that service manual that should have been here 5 days ago...
tech10002
FYI, Acura changed the color of the wire to solid blue with little horizontal silver stripes for the Vss, and the reverse wire was solid green with little horizontal silver stripes. My service manual finally came in. Thanks for the help cntry.
cntrylvr79
Thanks for the info. I'll have to file this one for future use.
