Perhaps the guy tried to wire it to be on all the time, but instead, wired it so that it's only getting power when the ignition is on. 100% your wiring. Fix it. 1loudls Posted May 30, 2011 Report Share Posted May 30, 2011 constant has to bee hooked up for the unit to power up at all, but it does sound like it is not hooked up to the right source, the yellow wire at the back of the radio needs to see 12+ all the time (this is what keeps the memory settings) the red wire needs to see 12+ only when the key is on, it is very possible that you have these hooked up in reverse, pull apart and test with a meter to verify. there are a few car where the constant and ACC wires are switched in the aftermarket harness (older Mercedes for example that use the VW harness) Quote Link to post Share on other sites
