Xtremespeed
I have had my x920bt installed in 2 different cars with the same issue. After 30-40 minutes of driving with my iphone connected to the cable and listening to Pandora or my ipod, the stereo looses communication with the iphone. It will not reconnect until the car has sat for a while, which leads me to believe it is a heat issue. It will still stream via bluetooth and the sound still works, but the phone won't connect via the cable. I have tried two different iphones with different firmware versions with no change. I have also tried to duplicate the problem with just power and ground connected on the bench (no outputs connected) and my iphone was still communicating fine after 3 hours. I sent the 920 back to Pioneer to be repaired, and they sent it back to me with no explanation if repairs were made or not. Just a receipt that says, "no charge, under warranty." They didn't even send my original box back. While waiting for the 920 to come back, I traded vehicles, and after installing the 920 in my new car, I have the exact same issue. I have searched and not found this issue mentioned elsewhere, so if anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it.
VBLUE42
Replace the iPod cable and see what happens.
Xtremespeed
That's just about the last thing I have to try. My dealer is sending me one this week. I will be suprised if that fixes it though. Mine works well and plays video fine too, until it gets hot. Since the cable doesn't contain any electronic components like the hu, I wouldn't think heat would affect it unless it was pretty extreme. Thanks for the reply though. I'll let you know what happens with the new cable.
Xtremespeed
Finally got the new cable. It appears that was the problem. I drove about an hour and a half listening to music on my iphone yesterday with no problem. However, when I tried watching a video, it wouldn't work. Then I remembered I just upgraded my iphone to 4.3.3 so I tried my wifes iphone which is on 4.0 and the videos play fine. I guess the x920bt firmware won't support 4.3.3 video? johnwill
Glad it is working. I have no problems running video from iPhone with 4.3.3 to the X920BT.
1loudls
your right that there is no electronics in the cable, but there is electricity flowing through the wires, all wires have resistance, resistance causes heat, the heat could have made a weak connection go in and out.
