Thanks for the reply Maik1; here is what I have behind the glove box (see pics). Anything sounds familiar to you regarding where the VSS could be? Some say red wire, other purple, but I am not sure I saw a purple wire. I tried to take a better pictures of the 3 sets of wires but they where too rigid to be moved, so we are missing some wires underneath the others.

Also, I could have had the OEM Navigation Unit when I bought my car in 2004. Instruction manual mentions the Navigation unit. I read here somewhere that there might be an unused wire off the main Radio Harness that could have the VSS too. Could that be an option?

Thanks!

JF

Hi,

What is / where is the Instrument Cluster and Driver Kick Panel? Sorry, my main language is french and I am not too familiar with technical terms when it comes to car, so I need a bit more explaination. Ooops... :S

I guess the Instrument Cluster is where the speedometer is, right?

And the kick panel is just beneath the Instrument Cluster?

Thank you for taking the time to help!

Yes the Instrument Cluster is where the speedometer is. The kick is where your left foot is when you sit in your car. The little panel clips off and you will find a wiring harness under it running towards the back of the car.

Again, thank you for your help.

After several hours trying to find and get to the White/Green behind the Instrument Cluster, I made it! I manage to lift the dash enough so I could see the connector on the instrument panel and found the wire. I don't know if I am supposed to see the speed on the Z130BT, but I don't see it. GPS seems to work ok though. I have set the GPS module on top of the Z130BT unit near the edge of it.

I am pretty happy with the purchase yet. The only thing that I am paranoying is the fact that the face plate is not detachable. I ran a Pioneer Premier 940MP for 10 years that had a detachable faceplate as I got robbed once because I forgot to remove the faceplate.... scary at that price...
