Background Static

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased the Z130bt and had it installed professionally. After I left the shop I noticed that there was a back ground noise static or white noise if you will. The static is there with all sources whether im playing my ipod iphone xm radio hd radio anything. When i turn the volume up it gets louder. Its very annoying and im wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

i have the same problem, I'm currently searching the site to remedy this problem. I have found a few things on here that I'm gonna try doing by searching "noise." There's a couple good threads on the first page of results, however not for the 130bt specifically, but it seems to be a typical issue across the board with high end pioneer products. I have a friend that owns his own shop and he attributes the noise to the amount of features the headunit has and the number of electronics that need to be packed into such a small housing as a result. I did not buy the headunit through him so I have a feeling that's why he's not terribly interested in troubleshooting with me.

Don't know if you fixed yours yet, but I finally quit being lazy and started troubleshooting my system. I ended up pulling the black ground wire out of the Metra harness adaptor and spliced a longer wire onto it. I crimped a terminal on the end and using a self tapping screw I mounted it directly to the chassis of my car. No more noise/static!!! Everything is nice and clean now, I suggest you try this to your car and see what happens.
