da445
Just installed a 2nd hand F700BT and all works fine except the navigation. The unit thinks its in Los Angeles (I live in San Diego) and will not change its location. The map seems to be frozen. I've reset the unit and upgraded the firmware to v2.008. In the navigation setup screen, I've confirmed that the unit can see GPS satellites, but it seems to not be locking on them. The GPS antenna is mounted under a plastic cover in the center of my dashboard, and since it can see satellites, I don't think antenna location is an issue. Any ideas what's happening here? I'm really scratching my head on this one. Thanks
JasonH
Has it been driven recently? It's not uncommon for the position to be way off after a full reset or the first few power ups. It should get a location fix within a few miles.
da445
I drove it 5+ miles and it never got a location fix. Everything else seems to be working perfectly
