VBLUE42
The App Radio doesn't give anything to any iPod?
jusgivmesom
Ok, thanks. I know that you can buy a cradle that gives the Ipod touch a GPS chipset. But was unclear on just how the GPS antenna works on the Appradio. So it is nothing more than a external antenna for the Iphone?
Tesla
Ipod 4th gen does get the GPS signal from the Appradion GPS antena. So it works with GPS softwares without WiFi when driving arround. Map has to be pre-catched though.
VBLUE42
Be advised that some navi apps for Apple iDevices will not work if there is not a WiFi connection even though the app can use the GPS signal. Some app require both.
jusgivmesom
Thanks!! That is what I was hoping it did. I ordered my appradio during the big sale from Best Buy and havnt installed yet. My car in Germany but I am heading back to the states before the end of the year. This is why I will be using the Ipod for awhile. There isnt alot of info out there about the Appradio and Ipod combo. I have gotten most of my info from this site. So thanks to all that have posted here. With that said. Any advice on which app is best for nav with the Ipod?
VBLUE42
The only one that I have seen that functions well is MotionX. There is also NavFree but it is a little more limited. The best Navi apps like Garmin, TomTom and Navigon are not supported for control from the head unit. Pioneer has released Navgate which is a version of iGo Primo but so far it is for Europe only.
