s4audi Posted April 11, 2012 Report Share Posted April 11, 2012 Hello all... I'm new here, but have been browsing here for quite sometime. I have also searched the forum and could not find the answer to my issue. I am a new owner of an Avic Z140 system. I have the unit installed, and is working good. The unit is installed in a 2004 Audi S4. The issue i am having is that when I put the unit in the dash, the antenna signal seems to drop dramatically. All I hear is STATIC. It has an amplified antenna hooked onto it. When I pull the unit out,the signal seems to get a little better. Is there anyone out there having similar issues? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. AMG-Pilot Posted April 12, 2012 Report Share Posted April 12, 2012 s4audi, I recently installed an AVIC-Z140BH into my SLK55 AMG and had the exact same issue. I received a powered antenna adapter as part of a kit that I ordered from Dietz Electronics and it turned out to be a bad adapter. I went to the local electronics store and purchased a standard antenna adapter and now it works perfect. Who ever did the install should fix this for you. There should be no reception issues at all with the new radio.
