BlackMetalRobot
I've installed the 940BT by following the bypass video seen here: Great bypass trick but my video still cuts out when I reach a speed above 15mph because of the GPS Nav unit. If I unplug the nav cable from the back it works perfect and I'm not restricted. Anyone figure out how to bypass the GPS from knowing you are in motion? Thanks! VBLUE42
As always if it doesn't work you either did it wrong or you have a connection issue. Check your relocated wire.
BlackMetalRobot
Thanks @VBLUE42. I've looked it over a few times and not sure there is anything to screw up unless I'm missing some other wiring. Should this bypass also disable the GPS from knowing I'm in motion? Like I said, it works perfectly when the GPS Nav cable is removed from the unit, so I know the parking e-brake bypass is wired correctly. Does the Pink "car speed signal input" need to be wired to anything?
VBLUE42
Did you relocate the mute wire? That is your problem. Once again, there is only one way to bypass the unit and if it doesn't work you have something wrong.

coolguy2010
I am also having same issue after bypass done using the video above...did anyone figure out the fix.
Hamfisted
There's better videos out there to explain this, just google. To remove the pin from the harness pry the lock up a little and stick a sewing needle in the radio side of the plug in the hole associated with the pin hole you're trying to free up. This will push the pin's locking mechanism down and make it easy to remove the pin, without trying to rip it out by the wire like this guy did. Pulling it out by the wire is very risky. Other than that just make sure you have a good ground. Should work fine. -Mike P.S. While you're at it you may want to go ahead and install the 5v regulator in the Blue/White amp/antenna power wire to avoid the pop noise from the amp being over-volted at start up. Rather than have to pull it out again a week later.
giggitygoo123
I am also having same issue after bypass done using the video above...did anyone figure out the fix. I was having problems with mine, but turned out I had a weak ground. Moved the ground to a better spot and haven't had a problem since.
Bggunnz
Just did this yesterday... No problem.... move yellow straight up, snip green parking brake wire, connect yellow, black/gray, and green parking brake wire... remove green parking brake wire from parking brake (or just zip tie it to chassis without any bare wire showing).. That's it... no other changes were made..
VBLUE42
snip green parking brake wire, connect yellow, black/gray, and green parking brake wire... No black/grey wire is involved.
Dbowperson
If you don't want to deal with pulling out the mute wire, you can also just run a jumper wire from the hole above the mute wire. Just strip about 1 to 1-1/2 off the end, and thread it through the hole so several of the wire strands (probably need about 4 or 5 threads) come out the little hole on the back of the plug, then fold them up and over the top of the plug, back towards the front, and plug the harness into the back of the radio. I believe this has been referred to as the redneck bypass, and there is a Youtube video out about it. That's how I did mine, and it works just fine.
zx6rrdan
That's not a good bypass video. It shouldn't take alot of effort to pull out the bypass wire. The video doesn't show the release pin and as well the video doesn't show well you need to keep the retaining clip up until you get the wire in it's new place. It's possible you don't have the wire in to the new pin location far enough or locked in. Take a look at this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syl14gmIfSA&feature=related
krisreg
I having same problem soon as I start up my avic x940bt I get parking brake lead is not conected right I press ok and everythings good. As soon as I start driving I lose dvd and the other stuff. I just wondering if its over loading the ground I have yellow/black, green and black wire from the deck joined togeather then grounded to the ground wire in the car. Is this whats everyone elts is doing or are you grounding the mute and parking brake to the cars body? all of my conections are soldered togeather and are good. and yes I moved the yellow and black wire up
