Nacman
I made this video for the DashCommand forum, but I thought I would post it up here as well. Nacman
VBLUE42
This does require a jailbroken iPhone with a tv out extension correct?
Nacman
This does require a jailbroken iPhone with a tv out extension correct? Since mine is jail broken, before I answered I loaded the dash command app on my wife's which is not jail broken and it worked exactly as you saw in my video. Of course I bought the cable from pioneer that plugs into z130, but that's it. Nacman
JasonH
Yeah, no jailbreak required. DashCommand is an AppRadio compatible app.
rfromet
I tried downloading dashcommand this morning. I put the radio (Z130) in app mode and all I get is a blank screen (even when not moving with the parking brake on). I assume you need to do the HU mod to get the app to run (especially when the car is moving)? I'd like to use the app, but $50 is a little pricey if it won't work... Thanks! VBLUE42
Are you using an authorized cable not purchased from eBay or Amazon? I'd like to use the app, but $50 is a little pricey if it won't work... So am I to assume you are using a pirated version then? Often they tend not to work properly.
rfromet
Yes - it's version 2.9.1...I guess my point it that I have no problem paying for it (and I will) if it will work in app mode without modifying the head unit. That's all I really wanted to know... Thanks!
rfromet
And yes - the cable is the pioneer cable purchased directly from pioneer...
VBLUE42
Your manual should indicate if the P Brake is required to use App Mode.
VBLUE42
But if the Dash Command app supports App Mode it will work.
rfromet
Update... Just talked to Pioneer. According to them, app mode on the 130bt DOES NOT support video while driving. While Dash Command DOES support app mode (while in park) - as soon as I put the car in drive, the screen goes blank. Nacman - is that the case with yours? Or did you do the 130bt mod? Does anyone else have any experience with Dash Command (or similar like Rev, etc.)? I have all the latest software (including the PAID Dash Command 3.0) and an iphone 4... Thanks! VBLUE42
All video screens are locked out while in motion unless you have the bypass. App Mode uses a video input.
rfromet
I guess I'll be performing the bypass this weekend...
Nacman
I guess I'll be performing the bypass this weekend... Yes, Mine is bypassed. Works fine while driving. The first thing I did before installing the radio was bypass it so I never faced the issue.
Nacman
I usually don't bring topics back from the dead, but an update. I just updated the Z130 to using the easy install from here. Now the dashcommand app's soft buttons now work on the display, so I don't have to touch the app on the phone. Big improvement.
