branshaw09
This may seem like a silly and simple question, because I think it is, but when you connect your Moto Android phone do I need to set the HDMI to Mirror for everything to work? I was thinking that once connected the AppRadio app would launch and I'd have function to those apps without selecting anything on the HDMI connection options in the drop down box. Scenario 1: I didnt select anything and when I dont do that I get the "Warning watching video in a moving car is strictly prohibited" prompt and when I click my bypass I get the Motorola logo screen saver. Scenario 2: BUT when I select Mirror mode I get the AppRadio App launch and then when I click the bypass I get full access to my phone. I am thinking that I do have to select an HDMI option, but was expecting that the app would recognize the HDMI and then launch itself. I dont think that's the case now though. Can someone clarify for me? Thank you VERY much!!! This is a great site and community just like most forums out there. UPDATE: Ok so now nothing gets me into the appradio app mode. This is getting VERY frustrating. When I plug in the phone and everything is connected, appradio app says to connect to the phone but it doesnt just shows to plug in the hdmi cable, I get NOTHING at all no matter what I chose. It is like the app is not recognizing that the cable is there. I'm about to take this thing back and find something more reliable. I can't troubleshoot every time I hook it up. vjaneczko
I just downloaded the update for the AppRadio app today and about to see what improvements they made. Have you done that already?
branshaw09
I just downloaded the update for the AppRadio app today and about to see what improvements they made. Have you done that already? Yes, it just updated to make the Galaxy Nexus compatible. I figured out a way to trick my system. If I put the phone in mirror mode and then go into my apps and open up the music player or one of the compatible advanced apps it then asks me to set up the phone and go through the touch screen dot portion. Everything then works fine. Unfortunately it makes me do this step EVERY time. I think this thing has huge potential and hopefully Pioneer is watching these threads and the Play Store comments to see how many problems there are. I got my system from BB and am a silver member so I have 45 days to return I am going to continue to tinker with this thing before I give up. I feel like I'm getting closer to the way I want it daily. Pandora however... thats another story. When I access pandora from the AR2 I get no audio through the head unit. The visuals are there but the audio is now playing from my phone? Thoughts?
giggitygoo123
Did you also have to connect the parking break wire for this? I'm thinking I need to go with the relay "solution" for this. Relay doesn't work on appradio 2. Here is a wiring diagram of how to bypass it with a switch (note: each time you flick the switch, it is like you either putting the parking brake up or down). http://i.imgur.com/fnamG.png

Mythras12
I have a Samsung galaxy s2 and having trouble with appradio 2. The picture keeps on disconnecting. Has anyone else had this problem? It will work for a bit but then sporadically the picture will disconnected and I'll have a black screen. I've checked the hdmi cable and it's connected fine and I'm powering my mhl adapter via the ciggy lighter.
