DeEePiDDy
I currenting have the x920bt installed in my car with the video bypass, rear view camera, and ASWC steering wheel control installed. If I were to upgrade to the x940bt could I just swap out the headunits or would I have to use the new harness adapters, redo the bypass, and reprogram the ASWC? or could I just plug in all the connections from the x920bt and everything will work? I really dont want to have to rip up my dashboard...
ncmudbug
I'm not an installer so I could be missing something but I would be surprised that you'd have to do anything else besides replacing the head unit. From what I understand, the difference between the x930bt and the x940bt is software and I would expect that would go for the x920bt. The bypass is the same on all X series and ASWC shouldn't change. VBLUE42
Direct swap, plug and play. The bypass is the same on all X series. Not exactly. There is a difference between 1st and 2nd gen X series.

DeEePiDDy
Direct swap, plug and play. What about if I wanted to Upgrade to the Z140BH? Would this also be a direct swap, plug and play?
1loudls
now i can see a reason to upgrade from a X series to a Z series, but why would you want to upgrade from a 920 to a 940?
DeEePiDDy
Well will it be plug and play? Or will I need to redo the bypass etc..

ibwalkn
the biggest reason I am thinking about upgrading my X920BT to the X940BT is the AHA Radio & Pandora support for android...

That is software and should be available on the X920BT when the X940BT update is released.
Gottria
So is the hardware from the x920bt to the x940bt the same?

I have a 920 so I take it there will be at some point another upgrade like there was when the 930 surfaced? Maps too?
