marchammer1987
Anyone who have successfully made some kind of bypass for the AVIC-F9220bt? Softmode or wire-cutting thing? I took pionara's advise and bypassed my F9220bt according to SoundMan's guide on youtube for the X920bt. This doesn't work for me! When the car stands still (parking brake on or not doesn't matter) the DVD plays and shows just fine. Once the car moves the picture goes away. HOWEVER i'm not sure i've done it correct since the F9220bt is connected to the car by a quadlock (like this one). As you can see it has no light green parking brake wire so i'm not sure I have grounded the correct wire. Move mute wire one to the left. Ground it together with the parking brake wire. I'm sure this have been done correct - just not sure i have used the correct parking wire!!! I think the parking brake wire is connected to the CAN-bus box some how. Anyone with a F920bt or X920bt who can tell me where the parking brake wire is located in the power/speaker harness that goes in the radio? ANY HELP IS HIGHLY APPRECIATED. pionara
get the f920/x920 service manual and look at the connector diagrams of power harness (for PKB wire) and A/V harness (for KMODE wire)
marchammer1987
Thanks for the tip. I have already looked at the manuals for both units but they only provide color codes which doesn't match with my harness! It says nothing about the pin location. Futher more I found this picture showing a avic harness and this have the parking brake wire going into the CAN-bus box. This got me wondering. http://discount-car-hifich.shopgate.com/webapp/shop_get_item_images/199232/0 Since I worked/moved alot with the mute-wire-pin i suspect that it may not contact the pin of the radio once connected. I'll try to bend it or stuff some wire strings in there to be sure it is connected. Once again thanks for the tip - more tips are welcome.
marchammer1987
After looking through at least 50 pictures of power/speaker harness for similar units to F9220BT I found the solution! BYPASS FOR PIONEER AVIC-F9220BT: First of all move the mute wire as described in a lot of these forums - just like SoundMan describes here: or as shown on the picture below: Here comes the tricky part. The parking brake wire. I have a quadlock plug-and-play harness which doesn't have a light green wire! Or it have one (left in picture) but it doesn't have an effect to ground it together with the mute. What I did was to use the white wire and ground it together with the moved mute wire. This white wire comes from the CAN-bus box. It shouldn't matter what color it is on your harness it just have to be located in the same location as shown on the picture below (the white wire on the right). I hope this can help some of you guys with a AVIC-F9220BT. I have tested this and it workes fine! Good luck.
