Vehicle Dynamics Acceleration gauge swings wildly

As the title says, the acceleration gauge swings back and forth wildly...

 

I noticed the navigation was wonky last weekend - the car "arrow" was passing streets before I reached them causing the nav to keep re-routing.. I attributed this to bad gps signals, but when I went to settings, hardware, status (I think that's the path) I saw some kind of message about some problem with Sensor G (iirc)

 

I didn't pay much attention to it as when I shut off and restarted the.car the

Message was gone.

 

Tonight though, I was watching the 3D status screen and the graphic that shows the car's up/down angle was kind of twitchy. So that's when I switched to the vehicle dynamics screen and saw the "Acceleration" sensor swingling back and forth wildly.

 

I'm guessing this means one of the accelerometers has crapped the bed.

 

Can someone knowledgable confirm?

 

If confirmed, what are my options for getting the sensor replaced? Is this doable myself (I can solder and have some electronics familiarity)? Or is this a surface mount issue which requires specialized tools?

Did you check to see if you have a really good connection where you tied the accelerator/vss wire?

I would check there first.

You could try a reset first, you never know
