jmoney715
ok i know this was stupid of me but help me out, i took my avic out of my dash while the power was running because a wire was loose, fixed it and right when i was putting it back in the dash it all of a sudden turned off on me. now i cant get it back up and running, the damn thing wont power on at all... Ive checked all fuses, my car fuse and the fuses on the avic unit. it still wont power on. everything is working on the car, lights everything! its just the head unit. any ideas?? tillithz
grab a meter, and test the 3 main power wires. on the back of the z1.
jmoney715
just tested them, looks like they all have power running to it. i even went as far as to plug in the factory system and it even powered on... did i blow some type of internal fuse? can this even be fixed... geez i hope so. tillithz
you checked the z1 harness AT the plug where it goes into the z1 with a METER? maybe the fuse on the back of the z1 blew is why i ask.
jmoney715
yeah, i did, i checked the harness and checked all fuses behind the Z1. there is power...but the damn thing wont turn on....
tillithz
sounds to be internal then likely fixable but not likely by you.
jmoney715
ok, i checked it again, theres no power coming from the red line, when i test the yellow line (battery) it lights up... could i have burned something from the wire harness?
tillithz
no power on the red where? the car side of the harness or the z1 side.. like where it plugs into the z1?
jmoney715
z1 side, i know for sure the car side works because i plugged my factory stereo and it powered right up.
tillithz
i dont recall if the red has that resistor on it but if you are not using a meter, you wont be able to test for what that wire puts out. (assuming the resistor is on that line.. cant remember)
