Dr teeth
I'm attempting to connect a PAC RP4-CH11 to interface between my 2006 300 SRT (Boston Acoustics) and a Pioneer AVIC-Z140BH and I have a few questions. Some of these might be obvious but I haven't wired a stereo to a canbus system before so please bear with me. (At the moment I'm not changing amps or speakers. All of this assumes interfacing with the existing BA system) 1. The pioneer manual specifies that the Avic should be wired to it's own chassis ground. The RP4-CH11 has two ground wires. I'll definitely wire the Pioneer to ground, but should I leave the two grounds on the RP4-CH11 taped off or should I run them to ground too? 2. The AVIC main harness has a blue/white wire. The instructions state "To auto antenna relay control terminal. If the vehicle has a glass antenna, connect to the antenna booster power control terminal (max. 300 mA 12 V DC)". My car's antenna is in the rear window grid, so I assume that's what they mean by a "glass antenna". The RP4-CH11 has a blue wire labelled "Antenna On Input". Do I simply need to splice these two? 3. The RP4-CH11 has a lead labelled "P.B. Output". What the heck is that?
Dr teeth
One more question. The RP4-CH11 has a wire labelled Amp Turn On Input. The AVIC has no corresponding output. Is it OK to leave this empty, or should I wire it to accessory power?
Dr teeth
OK, I think I have it figured out. Feel free to point out any errors: PAC: Battery 12V (X2) Yellow to Yellow Always On Power :Pioneer Left Rear + Green to White Left Front + Left Rear - Green/Black to White/Black Left Front - Right Rear + Purple to Gray Right Front + Right Rear - Purple/Black to Gray/Black Right Front - Ground (X2) Black to Chassis Chassis to Black Ground Accessory Out Red to Red To Electrical Terminal Controlled by Ignition Switch VSS Out Purple/White to Pink Car Speed Signal Input Illum Out Orange/White to Orange/White To Lighting Switch Terminal Reverse Out Green to Purple/White Reverse Gear Signal Input Amp Turn On Blue/White to Blue/White Auto Antenna Relay Control PB Output Red/White Unused Antenna On Blue Unused Left Front - White/Black Unused Left Front + White Unused Right Front - Gray/Black Unused Right Front + Gray Unused Unused Green/Black Left Rear - Unused Green Left Rear + Unused Purple/Black Right Rear - Unused Purple Right Rear + Finally, using the "Bypass" hack/mod, the Pioneer Mute wire (Yellow/Black) is moved to the slot below it's original location, then it and the Parking Brake wire (Pale Green) are both grounded. I'll hook this up tomorrow and let you know how it pans out.
