Bypass question (adding a wire)

Afternoon all,

 

First post. I searched but couldn't find the answer I was looking for, so forgive me if this has been asked and answered.

 

I just bought a X940BT and I see how to move the mute wire to complete the bypass, but could I just add a wire into the spot needed instead of moving the mute wire? If I move the mute wire instead, would I lose the ability to mute the HU?

 

Reason I ask is because I was serching the internet and found were someone mentioned just adding a wire instead of moving the mute wire, but nothing was mentioned afterwards if it worked or not.

Crap, nevermind. I searched again and found that adding a wire will work.
