blake_yount
I just bought the AVICX3500BHS and also bought the NAV AVICU250. I just installed them today and I am having one issue with the NAV and one with the X3500 itself. 1) When trying to turn on the Navigation....it tells you to hit the "Mode" button on the radio and then it should take about 10 seconds to load. I have done this and the screen is just black. I read in the instructions to flip the switch on the front of the U250 over to change the video output. I tried that and nothing changed. I reset the nav unit and it still didn't change anything. I double checked all connections and the are snug. The box does have power running to it. I'm lost and need some help. 2) When after loading DVD a screen says that it is strictly prohibited to view movies from the front seat. I can hear the sound but no picture? Is it as simple as just grounding the parking brake wire or is there more to it? Thanks for any help in advance Blake
VBLUE42
Pull your parking brake for both issues.
blake_yount
What do you mean pull my parking brake? I have left the parking brake wire unattached to anything.
VBLUE42
Well then thats why it doesn't work. Maybe you should read your manual.
blake_yount
Thanks for the help. No need to be a smart ass though. I did read my manual. Maybe I just didn't understand what it was saying to do.
VBLUE42
Then read it until you understand. And I am a smart ass.
blake_yount
Well answer me this then, I have connected the parking brake wire and everything works now except the navigation still doesn't work. The box has power running to it. All connections are secure and tight and still won't display on the radio. Now what? Is the box itself bad? Suggestions?
oldracer
Did you connect the "speed sensor" wire? Some manuals say it may not be necessary and my X950BH said it made GPS "more accurate" but the tech at the shop said it was needed so I connected it and my GPS works fine. I realize it is not the same model as yours but from what I have seen of the way these Pioneer head units work, they may or may not need something in particular??!! Brasko77
Any updates on this issue? I just installed the AVH-X8500BHS and the AVIC-U250 in my 2005 Grand Cherokee using the PAC C2R-CHY4 CAN Bus adapter (no parking brake bypass, yet...). Everything works except for the U250 navigation add-on. When I press the mode button on the 8500BHS, all I get is a black screen and audio from whatever source was previously selected. The U250 unit has power because the red power light flashes 4-5 times and then stays on steadily. The video switch is on WVGA. I've also tried resetting the U250 and nothing changes. I'm completely lost at this point an could use some help and guidance. Thanks!
VBLUE42
Well sense you say you don't have a bypass yet why would you expect it to work?
Brasko77
Maybe because I'm parked with the parking brake engaged? Aren't these things designed to work without a bypass?
