GoFast908Z
Just got a N1 off ebay, seller claimed to have everything, but i'm missing several things according to the owners manual -extension lead (for reverse signal) -extension lead (for speed signal) -extension antenna cable -side brackets (look sort of triangle shaped) -side brackets (for the hideaway headunit) -all the screws for the kit Did I get hosed on this? Can the unit still work? Will a stereo shop be able to work around this stuff or do their own wiring for it? thanks -Jeff
sportsfan21
Any authorized Pioneer installer should have no problem working around this.
cntrylvr79
-extension lead (for reverse signal) Any piece of 18 gauge wire will work -extension lead (for speed signal) see above -extension antenna cable availible at most audio shops for $3-$8 these you'll either have to get from pioneer or a dealer -side brackets (look sort of triangle shaped) -side brackets (for the hideaway headunit) -all the screws for the kit Did I get hosed on this? Can the unit still work? Will a stereo shop be able to work around this stuff or do their own wiring for it? No you didn't really get hosed. Yes the unit can still work, and a decent shop will have no problem making it work.
GoFast908Z
thanks guys, i'll be taking it to the shop today to see if they can install it properly.
slyk
you know, I didn't have any of the stuff you're referring to. The screws aren't even essential, and neither are those triangle peices. They're helpful, but you can secure the HU in place by simply bending the two long tabs on the bottom of the sleeve. Bend them so that they are slightly up, and the unit will click into place and be relatively secured. Not very WELL secured, but it won't move much either.
GoFast908Z
ok, well got it installed and working properly. 2 other issues i found -no trim around the faceplate & no owners manual -unit has a cd ejection problem, have to use a key to help the cd come out
slyk
The manuals you can get by signing up on pioneer's website. Trim piece can be ordered online, or on ebay, or i'm sure people have extra ones. I can't really help you with the eject though
