larserickson Posted July 13, 2013 Report Share Posted July 13, 2013 Hi, I am installing my new Avic 850 in my 2005 BMW 330 (e46). I have two questions I hope someone can help me with. First, the pink wire says to connect to car speed sensor. Can anyone tell me what is meant by that, and what in paticular (really helpful is someone has done this on and e46) they are looking for it to be hooked to and where I might find that? Are they looking for actual speed input, or just to know it is in forward (drive)? The other one is the light purple (lavender) reverse wire for the back-up camera and navigation to tell it you are going backwards. Can I hook that up to the indicator light that comes on on the console "R" when you shift into reverse? Are they just looking for a power/positive source of any type when you are in reverse?
