Newbie help required, Please.

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I just purchased a fully installed Avic z150bh and i have a couple of questions that i am hoping to get help on.

1)
Point of intrests – on my old hand held Garmin GPS I was
able to install my own POI (red light cameras, speed zones and starbucks
locations). I searched everywhere and the I found AVICFEEDS but it doesn’t allow me to install
POI and I also found on the UK Pioneer site a feed loader that allows POI
loading but my Z150bh is not available on the supported devices.  I was hoping someone could point in the right
direction.

2)
Street Names – the current maps don’t say street
names, it’s a small thing but annoying.
Anyway to navigation with street names and not just “turn right here†

3)
Steering Controls – My steering contorls, anyway to
set my radio controls to go up and down on my favorite stations.  Right now it just goes up and down the
dial.

Thanks in advance for all the help, I really tried to find
the answers on my own but I am stuck so I’m hoping someone here can help.

Thank you.

1. If AVICFEEDS doesn't support the unit the answer will be no. However I would try and set the last most current unit to yours in the settings of the app and see if that helps.

2. Set the navi settings to text to speech. Its in the manual.

3. This has been covered countless times on this forum and is by design on the unit and it has been that way with all of their units at least since 2006. Basically if the controls are set to track skip for CD\DVD the unit will not skip presets for the tuner. The only option is to have a control adapter that allows dual programing of the buttons on your steering wheel. Other then that there is no solution.
