How hot does it get? Search for the operating temperatures. I know it does not like near freezing temperatures, but im sure its the same for hot temperatures.

ANd what do you mean by slide down? Slide down to DVD slot one or two?

If you need to get to the bottom one, hold the eject button.

Ok, let me explain it again sorry. I live in Tucson Arizona, gets hot as heck down here. In the morning, it is nice and breezy. When I push the open button the screen will slide down in the morning. In the afternoon it gets blazing hot here, and when I start my car and try to push the open button the screen won't move. You hear the click sound but nothing happens. At night time I go out and it is nice and cool here at night. When I go out at night time around 9, when I start the car and push the open button the screen will slide down again. Any help here will be appreciate. Thanks.

Try adjusting the D! a dot higher in the dash opening, or file off about 1mm of the dash fascia opening under the head unit. Heat may be causing the dash pieces to expand, and, if the D1 is in just the right place, it might hang up on the way out.

Another thing to try as a test to see if the D1 is getting tweaked.

Pull the D1 unit out of the dash slot about 1/2 way or so. (this should relieve and pressure buildup from a tweaked dash)

- Test the operation in the AM, based on your above post things should work fine.

- Test the operation around 1:00 or ? to see if it NOW works. If it does you have a tight install and it's getting tweaked as the dash heats up.

Just an idea
