blackmamba2621
Does anyone have a confirmed bypass method for the Non-AVIC units?
drenyce311
You need the micro bypass relay or a Double pulse relay switch.
scotty3x3
You need the micro bypass relay or a Double pulse relay switch. This is correct. Used the micro bypass for mine. Very simple install.
email68
I just used a normally closed push button hidden under the dash. Simple tap when I need it. Most of the time I don't. I used this one from Radio Shack http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062540

fattyspecial
I put the micro bypass in on a permanent basis when I installed the 4000. No problems. I installed mine yesterday and I am having problems with the bypass relay working intermittently. (avh 4000nex head unit, 2007 infiniti g35 coupe with bose, pac roem nis2 harness). For some reason when i play video off a usb stick it works the first time (gives me the warning message and then I can press OK and watch the video) but then if I turn the ignition off and try again to watch video it gives the warning message again and I am not able to tap the OK button because it is greyed out and it only plays the audio. Strangely, if I turn the unit off and switch the usb key to the other usb port then I am able to watch the video again but if I turn the car on and off the same thing happens again. Any ideas? How did you wire yours to get it to work?
