tekki
Ok, I'm not understanding clearly so lemme ask In smartphone setup is your connection type USB or Blutooth, If it's set to USB you should have no problem, if it's set to Blutooth than that's your problem, your telling your HU to connect only BT. CHANGE smartphone setting to USB and see if that helps

mmontes1
It does play my iPod when I have it set to USB. but then I can't directly control pandora(iPhone) from the head unit through blue tooth.
ericvic
That is correct. You can do one or the other Bluetooth or USB. You have to decide which method you prefer. I prefer USB because I feel that I get better audio that way. Either way it is connected you can always use Bluetooth to make/recieve phone calls.

Connect iPhone to USB 1 and connect iPod to USB 2 and you should have no problems controlling pandora on your HU.Click pandora on your HU, it will prompt you to click allow on your phone. Or ask you to open pandora on your phone, boom it should all work. You may have to disconnect the iPod, I can't remember if this was the drawback on the design to get it to work properly.
