voidunknown
Does anyone have a video of the AVIC-Z1 opening or closing?
aznsmartass24
yes, go to youtube.com and search to avic Z1. There are a couple videos showing it do that. Or look at the Cnet review video.
voidunknown
I already did that. All I found was 5 videos. 3 of some guy backing stuff with his camera, the other 2 don't show the Z1 screen moving.
aznsmartass24
Would some pictures of it doing that suffice? I can send you some pictures if you want. Ill take about 3 of them in the process and send it to you. Whats your email address?
voidunknown
Well, I basically need to know how long it takes to open/close and when it starts the process. Â I'm trying to figure out a way to get the Z1 to work with the TCover. Â Is there a way to disable the screen flip out on startup in the Z1's settings? That way it never flips? Â Edit: To answer your question, I don't think pictures would work.
aznsmartass24
Umm not quite sure what you are talking about. The Z1 screen doesnt flip out. It is a double din unit. Are you talking about the N series? The only time the screen moves is if you hit the eject button to lower the screen to expose the dvd rom.
voidunknown
I thought when you turned the unit (or car) off the screen flipped around so that it was not visible. Am I wrong in my assumption? Â Â When you turn your car off, what happens to the Z1? Does it just power off and stay LCD out?
aznsmartass24
Yup, your assumption is wrong. That would be a nice feature but it doesnt do that. It just leaves the LCD screen exposed, so be careful of thieves. Good thing you have that radio cover though. Â From the looks of it, your Tcover should be able to work as needed. voidunknown
Excellent. Thats what I needed to know. Â Now I just have to wait for the Z2...
aznsmartass24
yup. The Z2 is actually listed on the pioneer website now, so it shouldn't be more than 1 more month, as the D3 came out after 1 month of being displayed on the website.
voidunknown
Yea I know its on pioneerelectronics.com. I made that post  Thanks for the help!  Edit: The D3 looks really nice, but I think I would really like the voice features. Which don't come with the D3 right?
jace93
Instead of wiring the t cover to the radio fuse wire it to remote turn on from the z1. You can change the settings for the remote turn on to have power when the car is turned on.
voidunknown
Good idea. I think the TCover is actually wired to the accessory wire from the ignition though.
jace93
the tcover should still open then. The z1 does not flip so i am not sure what your concern is.
voidunknown
Yea, the TCover will still open fine. I thought that the Z1 flipped inside out when powered on/off. I was wrong.
