adam0803
Long story short. I have the USB ext. Cable in Port 2,the hdmi plugged. The input/output set to device other USB. When I connect my galaxy note 3 SM-N900 the phone device detects the hdmi connection through the official MHL 1.0 Samsung adapter but the HU doesn't identify it. When I try to connect directly to USB to micro USB the phone chargers and says connected as multimedia device MTP mode but the HU continually flashes on screen "format read". During this process the phone has a pop up message stating Samsung kies need to be installed to enable file transfer and access. I tried stock roms, unrooting, rerooting different roms. Nothing works. Any ideas on how to get the HU to display my phone? I tested the USB ext. With a USB stick and hdd it works. I tested my sisters galaxy S4 4.4.2 and it worked through the MHL adapter but the USB to micro USB connection didn't work.

I know someone else already posted a similar situation, so u will have to use the search on the forum. However, you don't need the mhl adapter when just trying to play pandora, the only time you need that adapter, and select the connection type in settings is for app mode, or mirror. Someone with an android correct me if im wrong. Android USB 2 form pandora select USB in phone settings For app mode use hdmi, mhl adapter and in phone settings chose the adapter When choosing the mhl adapter in settings, your USB cable only functions to charge. I'm not an android guy, just guessing off things I've read
