hybridamp
Wrong sticker?
Mannyman
I lifted the big white sticker that has the pioneer logo and says AVIC D3, the serial number and a lot of small print. There are 2 holes under there, one near the middle of the sticker, but go up and right a tad (this is exposed to the inside of the unit, but i didn't see a switch. Just a couple of resistors I believe), then there is one near the bottom of the sticker in the center (bottom of a screw under there). Can't feel any holes under any of the other stickers (there are 2 smaller stickers on the top of the unit) so I'm pretty sure I did the right sticker.

MisFit
The real way to bypass is to re-pin and ground the mute wire along with the parking brake wire. If you only ground the parking brake you will lose function at about 5 mph. Did it yesterday and worked like a champ.
Reach
More details on "re-pin and ground the mute wire" please.
Mannyman
Check this topic. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4670 I have also done it as of 30 minutes ago. It works.
MisFit
Remove the yellow/black mute wire from the a/v harness and insert it into the empty pin next to it, then ground it with the light green parking brake wire and the regular ground wire. Done
