Other Firmware Tweaks in 1.0.6

Noticed that there are a couple other tweaks in the 1.0.6 firmware, in the Navigation app.

 

- Heading display is now a bit more readable, and no longer has that "compass ball" skeuomorphism. 

- Traffic data now actually includes severity. It no longer assumes everything is heavy now, which is good.

wow, thanks for mentioning that!  if it gets better at estimating traffic with that data, i may start using the stock navi again

Special characters (used in Languages like German, Italian, French, e.g. 'äöüß') are now displayed in the Radio RDS display. The old firmware always displayed a blank instead of the character.

I reported this bug to Pioneer in July and it was fixed with 1.0.6.

I had a bug where I couldn't press the [OK] button on the navigation nag screen until I switched sources.

 

For example,

 

1) Go to navigation screen.  Unable to press [OK]

2) Go to SiriusXM screen.

3) Go back to navigation screen.  Now the [OK] button works.

 

This seems to be fixed...

 

Also, is it just me or are the arrows on the map of the navigation a little different than before?

Anyone know if this update addresses any bugs in the AppRadio mode on the 8000NEX? Given that there are several known problems, I'm hesitant to just give this new version a try knowing there's no way to revert to the current version.
