This is what I did: 1) I tap the screen to display the map controls. 2) Now I can see the + and - buttons, and there is a red crosshair on the screen where I tapped. It thinks I'm trying to add a waypoint. 3) I press the "-" button several times to zoom out. 4) I press the back button to get rid of the controls, and to take me about of the "add waypoint" mode. 5) Now the zoom is back where it was before I started. bill2120 Posted November 6, 2014 Report Share Posted November 6, 2014 This is something I asked about months ago as well, I also have the 8000NEX. I just installed the latest 1.08 update and it seems like the fix for this didn't make it. The map viewpoint still only has 3 levels, close, normal & far and attempting to zoom only wants to add a destination. Going back to the map display resets it to the viewpoint level. bill2120 Posted November 17, 2014 Report Share Posted November 17, 2014 Nope, pinch to zoom only wants to add a destination and when you don't and go back to the map you go back to the viewpoint level of which there are only 3 to choose from. You do get to zoom if you have setup a route for navigation but without a route it's viewpoint levels only. Seems so simple I hope they decide to fix this someday...
