VBLUE42
Okay, as a novice to all this technology, please tell me the "best" set up to get the best experience - and where do I buy the Vantec Avox? I also was wondering if I had to have a video ipod (recently bought a 2 gb ipod, no video and need to return/exchange it soon) and wondered if I had to have the video ipod instead to watch videos. Also, debating between the D3 and Kenwood 7100. Thanks! Dont know about the Avox, but you do have to have a video capable ipod in order to play videos from your ipod to the D3. jaytrey
since paisan is currently chillin, i got the avox unit. unfortunately, i have not been able to hook it up to my d3 yet because i cannot find the time to install, but so far it's pretty cool. you can get teh avox through newegg.com and i'm using a seagate 120 gig hd for the memory. only downside to this is that you cannot control the music or video through the HU. the avox comes with a remote that you use to sort through the music and videos. but 120 gigs and the avox unit for the price (less) than a 30 gig ipod. i thought that was worth it to me. monkey323i
i already bought the D3, now im wondering if i should get Ipod Video or regular Ipod. Depends on how the quality is. As i know the ipod video screen is pretty small, so the video quality doesn't have to be good, but what happens when it enlarge to D3 screen with 6" monitor? anyone tried please give some input quality's pretty good. Now I watch MTVs/TV shows/Movies/Podcasts via D3. (no more swapping loads of CD/DVDs ) here's a pic of "F1 TV" on my D3 via 30GB 5Gen Ipod video: pic quality's bad since its taken by my 0.3MP cell phone's built-in camera
HUSKRFJ
CF has like three different options listed for the ipod cable. Does one if not all of them support video output? the guys at cf said no but you all are talking as though it does. First post, haven't bought anything yet but am looking at getting my setup with in a couple of weeks and want to get the right stuff. thanks HUSKRFJ
VBLUE42
Only the CD-I200 supports direct video support from the ipod as well as smooth ipod control while searching for music. I would not even consider any other options as far as ipod goes for the D3.
