Puddle Pirate
What size does your pics need to be for custom background on the D-3? Is it the same as D-2?
spookysoldier
Puddle Pirate-- From page 66 (right column, top) of the manual: Pictures up to a maximum of 2 048×1 536 pixels can be used. We cannot guarantee proper operation for a picture bigger than this size. I used one that was 635kb, then one that was 1.7mb...both worked just fine. The larger one did get cropped a bit by the software in the D3. Use standard microsoft office picture (under accessories on your XP Office) to downsize if you don't have fancy photo programs on your computer. As stated in several threads now, you have to "close-out" the CD-R or RW if you want the D3 to recognize the photos. I'd recommend giving page 66 a read over, it is thorough except for the "close-out" portion they omitted. --Spookysoldier
Puddle Pirate
Thanks. My book is still sealed in the carton. Can't open it till I get it installed - Just in case there is a problem with the unit and it needs to be returned.
coocho
try making the resoltuion of the pics 500x240. They wont get cropped then.
NOIRtist
I think 500x240 is incorrect, its too wide. The dimensions given earlier are a bit more square.
CiD
i use 500x240 and it works fine.. i tried the 2048 res and i saw black bars.
NOIRtist
On the D3? Then I stand corrected. Is it squishing or cutting off the sides at all?
