gsj224
Hello All First THANK YOU for all of the post I have read. I have learned a lot about the AVIC D series. I am now installing a D3 into a Mercedes M-Class with the premium Bose package (nothing PREMIUM about it though) and I am having trouble with the install. First I couldn't get it to shut off but didn't notice the switched Battery and ACC locations. NOW I cant get it to retain memory or utilize the Antenna Power to power the Bose unit (I now have the Bose power connected to the ACC wire). I think I may have a faulty unit or harness, has anyone had these problems? I also wanted to know if any of you received a installation cage or any type of brackets with your D3. Thanks again for any help provided. Cheers
MisFit
if you used a metra wire harness, sometimes the hot and accessory wires are reversed on the european cars. test them with a meter and switch them if needed
gsj224
I tried that and thats how I got it to shut off in the first place. I will try it again since I am using a different ground point and its powering with no flicker. Hopefully I have isolated the culprit, I will keep you posted to my findings this afternoon.
