WGFA Posted April 6, 2007 Report Share Posted April 6, 2007 I just installed my z2, its a nice unit, but I have problems. First my rear cam is not working, or should I say I can not access it through the menu buttons. And come to think about it, there r alot of buttons that I can not access. They r not HIGHLITED. Now I do not have the green parking brake wire hooked up, because I am not sure where it goes. Does it go to the ground side or the cannon plug side? I was thinking that since I dont have the brake wired up is this the reason I am not getting access to everything? Is this true? Any help would be great. TIA Quote Link to post Share on other sites
NedHamilton Posted April 6, 2007 Report Share Posted April 6, 2007 The parking brake wire goes to the "non-grounded" side of the parking brake switch. If it went to the ground side, when the parking switch was "on" the wire would connect to ground. And when the parking brake switch was "off" the wire would still be connected to ground. sspatel407 Posted April 18, 2007 Report Share Posted April 18, 2007 hey what you need to do is hook to green parking brake wire to a ground not the ground on the parking brake but to metal or the radio ground you should not have any problems then with your brake light coming up.
