2002 Maxima SE
On my 2002 Nissan Maxima, I have the following buttons on the left: Vol Up Vol Down Mode (Source?)--switches between CD/Radio/Etc Trip --Switches the info center for Temp/MPG/Avg MPH Track Up Track Down On the right: Cruise On/Off Cancel Accel/Res Coast/Set I see on the SWI-PS PDF: http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/Manual ... 7SWIPS.PDF That I can set most of these. So, my questions: 1)Are Mode(Nissan) and Source (PAC SWI) the same thing? 2)Do I set the Trip function? I don't want to lose that info center. 3)Do I set the buttons on the right for Cruise Control? sportsfan21
You can program whatever button you want to do whatever function you want. However, in order to retain your cruise control and trip info, only program the volume +/-, mode and track up and down. The cruise control ubttons and trip info button have nothing to do with the PAC unit.
2002 Maxima SE
Thanks! I can see you also have a Nissan. So, if I don't program the the trip and cruise control buttons, they will function as before? This poster on Max.org posted that I should cut the wire off the OEM harness and ground it: http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.php?p ... stcount=16 Did you have to do this? sportsfan21
They actually didn't make the Pathfinders with steering wheel radio controls in 2000, so I haven't used the PAC. I recently bought the controls from an 01 Pathy to use, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet so I wouldn't know. But you don't have to touch those buttons at all. Only hook up the wires that PAC tells you to use. In fact, just to double check you can call PAC Tech Support and ask.
